The comics were ripe for making a movie out of, but this one fell flat. It's too immature to suit anyone but very young kids. Very young kids don't know the comics. It's therefore a waste of the license. Total crap!

Walter Matthau moves heaven and earth to give some nuance and a glimmer of a depth to a character written primarily to be comedically injured and make funny faces while doing so. Beyond that there’s not a lot to the movie. Subplots poorly thought out and never committed to. Final encounter between Dennis and the robber is so devoid of a hint of tension it makes the final robbers vs traps sequence from Home Alone look like a seriously depicted dramatic battle by comparison.

Even as a young child I was terribly disappointed by the film. I mean here's a kid that can raise hell and he's just more of a minor annoyance, to people in the film as well as the audience. Still, there are a couple of laughs thanks to Walter Matthau.

This film tried to combine the story of Dennis the Menace comic strips with some of the stronger thematic elements of Home Alone. What resulted is an immature mess that doesn't feel faithful to what appears in newspapers every day.

The best example of how to make the worst of a license. On top of that they covered the wrong Dennis the Menace in my opinion, the original character from the Beano comic book would have made for a much better film prospect.

the kid that portrays dennis is so annoying and is kinda of an awkward menace... like if he's intend to do (different from the comic strip and the cartoon series, where the menace was more unconsciously). Highlights to Walter Matthal!

I watched this many times as a kid and loved it, and I still vividly remember much of it. However, Mason Gamble's best performance is as Dirk Calloway in 'Rushmore'.

One of the best HOME ALONE imitators elevates its familiar comedy material (and inevitable cartoonish violence) by the sheer will of its well-stocked production team and well-chosen cast: Matthau and Plowright bring a genuine poignancy to the Wilsons (and some delicious comic timing to land a few gags) and Gamble’s genuinely sweet performance is a credible threat to the Culkin clan. If Lloyd’s sinister drifter is a little too grungy for the otherwise sunny material, he's fun to have around.

This is probably one of five films that were on constant rotation at my house (the only other one coming to mind is Little Giants). Unfortunately, young me and adult me don't have the same taste in ~cinema~ (pity the poor child who has never experienced Godard). So, like, Christopher Lloyd is basically playing a pedophile, right? Props to Matthau and Plowright for really going for it.

As a kid I thought this was boring and unfunny and nothing has changed almost 30 years on. Another failed live action version of a TV cartoon, the tone of Dennis is all over the place and Gamble is too young and inexperienced to pull off his role convincingly. The only fun comes from talent-spotting ('er off Back to the Future! 'im off Terminator! Buzz from Home Alone!) and the section under the bridge with Switchblade Sam, which displays the type of anarchy this film needed a lot more of.

Demon child the movie. Today this comic book character would get diagnosed with several afflictions and forced fed lots of drugs but in this world of 1993 he is just a silly boy! Dennis is a psychopath who is an agent of chaos. The weird thing is the movie wants us to believe the neighbor he tortures, George, is really a courageous man who will save him from a random psychopath played by Christopher Lloyd. Trying to make something out of a three panel comic strip is always a recipe for fail.

One time he accidentally stepped in Mr Wilson's flower bed: That was a two-part episode. I did enjoy the joke that implied that Dennis has regularly seen his parents have sex, which certainly explains a lot about the character for me.

When I saw this movie I could'nt stop laughing at all the pranks the poor mr. wilson must endure every day. as for the bugler I was laughing cause he deserved it. This movie has left imprints in my mind on how family comedy is made just like the Home Alone movies and Three men and a baby this is a trap hurt fun movie- I call em that cause the more the bad guys gets hurt the funnier it is.
