Demons of the Mind

This Hammer film's got totally ridiculous story and plot full of holes. The only interesting actor was Patrick Magee (from A Clockwork Orange), but his part was nothing special here.

The first 30 minutes create some compelling mysteries, but the reveals are not only unsatisfying, they're incoherently vague & steeped in Freudian psychobabble. What exactly is the hypnotist's plan when he has a woman dress as the sister? What exactly triggers the brother to hunt & kill women who aren't his sister- but only sometimes? How exactly is the father responsible for his son's murderous rage? Too much thought went into visual style here & not enough on presenting a comprehensible story.
