Demonic Toys

Better than expected. Full Moon productions are just a touch above the hilariously awful outings by Troma, but to be slightly better in quality pushes them into the realm of just plain awful, which is actually a worse place to be. So it's kind of like blackjack where you'd rather stand at sixteen than bust at 22, unless you have two eights, then you can double down and...I don't really think that analogy works.

Really boring and predictable. When a horror film simply goes through the motions I become irrationally angry.

Lesser than, and considerably trashier than most of the Puppet Master movies.

Takes nearly a half hour to get anywhere, but then it settles into a decent potboiler with more gore than usual from Full Moon.

Demonic Toys is a stupid premise for a horror movie but its schlock is quality. The acting isn't terrible. I enjoyed the movie. I found myself rooting for the survivors which is important, usually I want the bad guy to win so the bad acting stops. The choices for the toys was good. Maybe there could have been a clown or something but the teddy bear was especially awful so I'll let it pass. The demon kids were a good addition; they also represent the main audience of this movie.

Except for the toys, it actually kind of works. It's Tales from the Darkside level competence, but it still works. The toys are like 70 percent of the movie though, and they slow proceedings right the fuck down to a gelatinous mess of overdone, underwhelming kill scenes and cheesy one-liners.

Wasted potential for good fun. A handful of laughs but mostly cheap and dull.

Among the Full-Mooniest of Full Moon productions, all of the key ingredients are here: a wasted premise, wasted practical effects & creature designs, a plot that can't make sense even when it tries, dull characters, meh acting, & an awkward ending that feels more lame than sentimental. Oh, and a really weird & out of place nude scene. The baby doll is insufferably annoying. It's got the elements of something good, but nothing really comes together. It passes the time, but it's not great.

A little slow, but there's some nice gore and it's pretty funny. Acting was above average for this kind of film and the characters actually didn't annoy me.

A 1-month-old fetus fights a demon from hell. There's a random girl that comes out of vents and then she dies. Baby Oopsie, the icon that you are.

This wasn't good but it was at least weirdly entertaining.
