Deceiver

A neat little mindfuck. It gets a little too confusing for its own good at times, but there's a really strong core there, and the claustrophobic performances are top-notch.

Great performances from Rooker and Roth. The first half is excellent despite some weak writing. However the story gets way too contrived toward the end. The acting and pacing make this a good film overall.

Big fan of Roth

For crime investigation films this is certainly one of the best. Though this is really not my type.

Average. Two cops try to extract a confession from an epileptic pathological liar. Staying true to the mid-90s style ala Basic Instinct, there is way too much style and very little substance to the plot. Tim Roth turns in an amazing performance, in fact great performances all round but still, the water-thin storyline ruins everything. Not recommended.

Well acted and oddly constructed. Makes for a pretty engrossing mystery despite leaning toward talking heads & weird dialogue in hard to believe situations. Kinda cool but kinda stupid ending.
