It's fun to watch this velvet-tongued swindler scheme his way to massive fortune, however contrived it may be at times, and Sanders' effortless charm and magnetism make him a perfect fit for such a role. The finale really lets the film down though, with absolutely no imagination shown in presenting the protagonist's inevitable downfall, ruin and demise.
