What the hell did I just watch? I'm not sure if it ever had any social commentary or message at its core, but any depth is completely eradicated by the time the films descends into a full-on slaughter. I was roaring with laughter at points. Absolute garbage, but enjoyable in its own shoddy, demented way.

His entire family has been raped and murdered all that was left for Kersey to care about was some old man friend we never heard of until now. It must've been love because Kersey kills everyone in a small part of this is obviously not England but it's New York City.

Complete and utter chaos and stupidity. Charles Bronson teams up with his fellow elderly to mow down the entirety of the neighborhood youth while sporting a blank expression and a terrible hair piece. Following this films absurd internal logic and shameless celebration of vengeful carnage was absolutely hilarious. In a perfect world I would give this a tier 10 score but as things stand its brazen moral apathy and thorough cynicism hit a bit too close to home for me.

Apparently a cult classic among the hard-core 80s action fan-base, this one is at least fast-paced and brutally violent. It's a no fucks given, go-for-broke effort. But any social commentary that drove the narrative in the original is now long forgotten, and Bronson is just blowing away anyone who remotely annoys him. It's a straight parody at this point. And for me, it's too far gone to truly enjoy. Perfect for those who like their 80s action cheese... extra cheesy.

This is not good in any conventional sense; most would consider it awful. But anyone in the mood for an 80's-era exploitation action flick will be hard-pressed to do better than this. There's a mountain of implausibilities, but each moment of outrageousness arrives unexpectedly never wearing out its welcome or failing to induce laughter. Its best feature is that no film has ever been edited so ruthlessly - anything boring is out. All that's left are (no pun intended) bullet points.

The third installment of the Death Wish series was an improbable second wind in a franchise that didn't really have a lot of wind in it in the first place. It's junky, trashy fun, but fun nonetheless. While Kersey's motivation to go apeshit might be a little less convincing this time, it was never quite as important as pre-Giuliani NYC slums for success. And a bomb ass Wildey pistol helps too, I suppose.

What was it about 1985 that produced the all-time epic "one man army" action movies? (Commando, Rambo 2, Invasion U.S.A. and Death Wish 3) This one is just a brutal, bloody piece of anarchy and I love it!

Is this a good movie? Well, no, not exactly. But it's stuffed to the gills with absurdly over-the-top action and it's very very funny. Any time a person is thrown out of a window and they turn into a dummy, it's hard not to laugh. It's completely ridiculous, but sometimes you just want to watch Charles Bronson go on a murderous rampage and this movie understands that there's nothing wrong with that at all.

On a visceral level this is more enjoyable than either 1 or 2. By now there's no sense pretending that deadly crime waves don't follow Paul Kersey around, and that anyone he befriends is destined to be randomly raped and/or killed as a pretext for his vigilante vengeance. But Death Wish 3 further dispenses with any semblance of good measure, and by the time Bronson almost single-handedly eradicates a gang of dozens, the city lies half in ruins with everyone dead but Martin Balsam and some cop.

Absolutely awful, no doubt. However, the violence reaches amazing heights of absurdity and sleaze (what do you expect from a Michael Winner film?). Particularly a fan of a scene where Bronson and his cop friend go on what appears to be a tour of a police academy training course, walking around a vacant town and shooting at hiding criminals that pop out from behind trash cans, buildings, etc.

If this were more self-aware it might be a genuinely good film. It works because of how blunt and stupid it is, even if Charles Bronson has completely phoned it in by this point.

This makes the first two look a lot better by comparison. Any attempt at nuance is gone by this point, the bad guys aren't just street thugs, they're full out caricatures and the film is in full cheer mode of Bronson's antics. For a while it kind of works but it gets more and more ridiculous and eventually passes the point where it's dumb fun to the point where it's just eye-rollingly idiotic. The ending kind of rolls back over into entertaining absurdity, but not enough to redeem this garbage p

Death Wish 3 is a surprising improvement on it's predecessor. Cannon have now fully injected their deluded filmmaking philosophy and shoddy production values into the franchise. They have managed to completely lose sight of the slow burning and compelling grittiness of the original film and have turned Death Wish into a playground of action and mayhem. Charles Bronson somehow manages to carry this plotless and nonsensical Death Wish sequel that is enjoyable but unrecognisable of the original.

Yeah, it's a bad movie for a lot of reasons, but it's an underrated classic in the "80's so-bad-it's-good action" genre. Face it: this should be mentioned right alongside (probably in better terms) Commando and Predator.

This is the only Death wish that I remember but it features the Wildey Wolf handgun and some of the most ridiculous urban guerilla style combat ever captured on film. This is an 80's movie trying to mimic 60-70's grindhouse but not quite succeeding. Charles Bronson is wooden in all the death wish movies but he seems a bit more lively than usual here. Watch it only if you enjoy trashy cinema.

Every bit of character development and social commentary is gone from the series now, the thugs are complete simplified stereotypes. But still it’s a step up from the previous entry cause at least it isn’t an boring rehash of the first. This just wants to be a dumb entertaining action movie, and partly succeeds in that. Especially the last 20 min is over the top dumb action entertainment with Bronson, the cops and the whole neighborhood fighting against the thugs with a staggering amount o

Shedding the last remanents of righteous justice, DW3 achieves the franchise's true calling as the 2nd amendment bukkake fantasy. The militia wages war against the quirky hoodlums. Charles Bronson gets outshined by the bitch slapping granda. Also we witness the the inspiration to the Home Alone movies. Right on man!

Top badass moment? Paul Kersey mobilising an entire community of old and frightened people to take direct action, despite his complete lack of interpersonal skills, or the fact that each time he does something more of them get killed. The person no one really wants as a friend turns up to deal with some annoying punks who never actually listen to any punk music, whilst any pretence of realism gets fully discarded as the franchise becomes a parody of itself. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.
