Dear Santa

This film does not have many laughs but it does have some enjoyable moments. The cast does a good job with their roles. The script could have been better, the last act ruins the story. Overall this movie is disappointing.

This is a PG-13 Disney Channel movie. A film with no target audience - too childish for adults, too adult for children. Gets really dark in the second half, then resolves it all with a ridiculous happy ending where I can't tell whether or not it's sleazy. Jack Black makes it watchable. (No movie where Jack Black plays Satan can be all bad.) Also, watchable for just how much of an unholy mess the script is, and just the unfathomable levels of stupidity it's willing to stoop to.

Really mixed bag because some parts were refreshing for a kid's holiday movie, they tried to make the characters more than just cardboard cutouts, add some unexpected parts. But on the other hand, some of the humour was just basic try-hard stuff, product placement, and celebrity placement. It already aged badly while just being out. Jack Black was himself, but you have to be crazy to watch a Jack Black movie without expecting a Jack Black movie. The demons were fun some
