Dear Mr. Prohack (1949) was right on its way of becoming a great comedy when morality got in way of the fun. I would still say it's a very good role for Cecil Parker as this prominent gentleman seeing his family get carried away with money. Glynis Johns provides some fine moments, but in the end wasted a little bit on the same down slide as when the morality kicked in.
