Deadly Circuit

Ronda Mortal estreava há 40 anos na França. Esperei 30 anos para ver esse filme, desde que vi falando sobre ele e seu lançamento em VHS numa revista Set, mas pare e que essa apreensão levou à decepção. Não sei, num primeiro momento o filme parecia muito interessante, mas parece se perder pelo caminho, não sei se por ser muito longo ou por ter achado o final tolinho e anti-climático. Michel Serrault is a great actor. I can't say the same of Audiard's script, a rather heavy-handed example of a French psychological detective thriller with the characters' motives poorly thought out. I'm not sure who to blame for the few too many slightly embarrassing murder scenes.

A crime thriller/mystery with a very, very French twist, namely: lots of dark humor and quirky characters.

A bit odd French neo-noir with beautiful (although I don't approve of some of the wardrobe choices) Isabelle Adjani and Michel Serrault. The oddness of the film comes from a habit of main character - detective 'The Eye' - to narrate his thoughts in a similar fashion that would be written in the novel. Except he does it aloud, like he has a habit of talking to himself. This takes some time getting used to, but as the film progressed the story got more and more engaging. Great soundtrack music!
