Dead in Tombstone

Dead in Tombstone is the type of film that you put on late at night because you're bored, can't sleep, and don't want anything to even remotely challenge you, intellectually speaking. It's dumb, it's trashy, but it's also really pretty and has some decent action scenes. Is it worth seeing? Probably not, but it will pass the time if you really, really, really don't want to do any sort of thinking while watching Danny Trejo kill some dudes.

This is exactly what i was expecting for a cheap direct to video danny trejo action western. More gore than i anticipated.

A boring revenge tale with a few unintentionally hilarious parts. Mickey Rourke looks like Donald Sterling. Sadness ensues.

What were you expecting?? It's alright... Danny Trejo, western, revenge. That's all, really. I don't blame Trejo for wanting to make lotsa money.

Exhaustingly generic. Trejo can be so much fun when he's used right, as in the MACHETE movies, but when he's stuck as the lead in a hokey, cheap high-concept Western like this one, it ain't a pretty sight. And speaking of sights that ain't pretty, check out Mickey Rourke looking like Rocky frigging Dennis! Gross! Dina Meyer's still as hot as ever, but otherwise, ugh, ugh, ugh. Skip this.

I wish Trejo would be a little more choosey with his films that he stars in. This film felt like a poorly done indie film coming out of a huge budget studio. It was a watered down version of Machete. The best movie to compare to this would be Jonah Hex, which is a MUCH better movie in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, this movie isn't terrible, but I won't be singing its praises from any mountain tops either. The bad guys were so generic I can hardly remember them ten minutes later. Yawn.
