Days of Eclipse

i like to think the people who made the all-time great broken video game PATHOLOGIC were familiar with this (more likely it's just the shared strugatsky influence but still)

(Viewed on 23/06/13): D.O.E is arguably Sokurov's first great film and his most formally radical work.The camera is often placed at odd angles, and the colour schemes alternate at seemingly random intervals; the sound design is an equally dense collage of disparate elements. Its a disorienting experience reflecting the dislocation of the central character. His view of the Soviet Union is undoubtedly critical: it imposes unnecessary constraints on human development resulting in spiritual poverty.
