Day of Reckoning might not be a super movie, but it's got moments and elements that makes it very watchable. Mainly Una Merkel as the unsophisticated maid who shows an undying loyalty to her employers through their struggles. She was really given time to allowed her character grow on screen in her sweet talkative way. And she deserves a lot of credit for saving this movie from mediocrity. Dix was himself, uneven. The fight out on the roof looked frightening!
