Dark Tourist

I watched this on a mate's promise that it was "really dark and mysterious". It isn't. In fact I'd replace those adjectives with "boring and unoriginal". Decent direction and performances - along with the fact it's mercifully short - save Dark Tourist from bottom-rung rating, but I'd still never wish it upon anybody.

"A psychological-thriller in the haunting tradition of films like Taxi Driver and Monster" is the most over-sold nonsense I've ever heard, SyFy original movies could do the same and say in the tradition of Blade Runner and Alien . . . but it's not an absolute waste, it has some atmosphere and it's mercifully short, just underwritten and with no compelling narrative drive

This blew me away at FrightFest '13. It falls apart once you actually sit and think about it, but "Dark Tourist" is still powerful, shocking and boosted by an incredible and brave performance by Cudlitz.
