A mix of Irish folklore and Disney magic makes for a charming 50's family film with some surprisingly good special effects . Albert Sharpe shines as the titular "Darby O'Gill," especially when paired with Jimmy O'Dea as "King Brian" of the little people, ooh yeah...and Sean Connery is there too, as the singing, sexy, love interest. Even with the leprechaun kingdom, the banshee, and the Cóiste Bodhar, the most Irish thing about the movie might just be that the whole thing ends with a bar fight.

An overlooked treasure from Walt Disney that integrates the real world with fantasy seamlessly. Not only unabashedly fun but darn right spooky at times. This blend of down to earth fantasy, entertainment and thrills is a dynamic mix rarely matched by other films. Highly Recommended.

Probably more fascinating than it should be because of Sean Connery's age. His love interest is absolutely terrible as an actress, but the real treat is the relationship between Darby himself and the king of the little people in question.

Yo this movie Irish as fuck, I found some of the conversations as inexplicable to the ear as if they were in another language. Got singing Sean Connery though, fiddling, a banshee, some pretty good little people CGI for the 1950s and some real nice matte paintings. I like matte paintings. Bring back matte paintings

Top notch, top 'o th' mornin' rendition of classic Irish folktales is not for those with an impatience for the subtleties of blarney and fantasy, but a delight for all else. The quality of this film provides yet another sharp contrast between what Walt Disney the man was capable of, and what the Walt Disney Company has descended to in the decades since the man's death.

A simple, but amusing story of an old man trying to outwit his own hallucinations. Not bad special effects; a frightening banshee, a hobbit and a Sean Connery that actually looks young.

Very slow with no chemistry between Janet Munro and Sean Connery.

Horribly stereotypical and filled to the brim with clichés, but still a fun family movie.

Please don't judge me. Something about these ridiculous old Disney movies keep things light and away from all the serious topics I don't feel like thinking about when I'm being entertained. There is enough of that in real life. This is definitely a guilty pleasure.

From the days when excessive drinking, barroom brawls and Irish stereotypes were the stuff of Disney kids' movies. Endearing, with fun special effects.
