Atmospheric German adaptation of Danton (1931) at the dawn of the French Revolution. The final words of freedom was a chilling one. Especially when you take into account that this was just a couple of years before Hitler came to power. Guess the German's didn't learn anything from this film. But it's a good one. One that deserves to have it's dust brushed off for a larger audience.
