Too eager on every level.

Some good scenes, and a message I support, but overall a bit too much cliché. Even the cinematography goes overboard, with almost every room lit with red lights - unless it's a family home, then it's warm flaring sunlight.

I expected something similar to "American History X", but this was told from the immigrant perspective which was refreshing. The film is divided into two parts which causes a bit of a disjointed feel. It could have used a bit of trimming as well, but there are some impressive scenes that reminded me of Scorsese. It gets very grim towards the ending and might be too bleak for some viewers, but it definitely does capture something about our current times and issues in Nordics.
