Dampyr

Ok enough to watch if you're a geek & nothing's on, but the studio has the nerve to say this is the 1st installment of a "universe"?! I thought there'd at least be a twist, but nope. The modern day war-torn backdrop does give a false sense of importance, but it's so sloppy: why does the hero & his friend/partner (?) speak American English when no one else does? & why doesn't the female vamp become as savage as her peers? & why does an indestructible vampire choose to spawn his own kryptonite?

Another Cool source material poorly executed. Think Season 6 GoT. Some character archetypes but no development. No compelling villian, plot points, or fight scenes. The lore and world building/setting is pretty interesting though. So as a pilot to a "TV" series it's alright, but as a movie it's not. I don't think the performances were that bad, but the scenes were not good. Upgrade the crew and I'll watch the next. Production and VFx were good for the mid end budget.
