A talkie remake of Mary Pickford's Daddy-Long-Legs (1919). This time with another petite lady in the lead. The adorable Janet Gaynor! While not up to the Pickford magic, this version was also sooooo sweet! Daddy Long Legs here is ladies man Warner Baxter. Not sure of the message they were giving with that because you feel more worried for Gaynor because of this sleazy elderly man drooling after his little girl! It becomes almost like a early version of Lolita! A well chosen vehicle for Gaynor!
