Dabide no hoshi: Bishôjo-gari

Riveting, Sick, Disturbing. Sadly, I don't think the whole concept is far fetched. The physical, emotional and mental torture the main character puts the women through is astounding. A unique perspective in the mind of a truly demented individual.

I don't know what to think of this. The depiction of women in these pink movies is alienating and here you have a protagonist who is jerking off over pictures of the Holocaust. But I won't judge it for being just sexist and tasteless. I think that would be too easy.

Many OMG moments that at times tread close to soft porn. Several Rape, bondage & torture scenes. The movie doesn't do a great job of explaining the progression of characters in the beginning, & they unnecessarily scrambled some of the story line. I wish it had been dubbed, the subtitles were distracting. I found myself riveted to my seat during several provocative scenes. The ending was a bit moralistic & had some confusing religious aspects. With no definite ending, perhaps there's a part 2?

A young man who after growing up watching his mother get abused and humiliated by his father starts to attack and torture women when he finds out that his real father was a rapist who raped his mother in front of her husband. While this is by no means a great or well made movie it does have a story and doesn't just use it as an excuse to have sex scenes. A fairly disturbing, dark and surprisingly well acted tale of a disturbed youth. Well done for a pink film and well deserving of its reputation

Tatsuya finds out his biological father was serial murderer and rapist, so he makes the conscious choice to emulate his dad, and kidnaps a series of women to torture and kill. Lots of the expected bondage and humiliation, but it actually turns out to kinda have a point once he meets his real father face to face, and the ending is abysmally dark if overly religious. One of the more stylish pinku films I've seen.

Top badass moment? Jun Yashioji (the pop singer) whacking Tatsuya over the head with a stool, in an effort to escape; (and it looked really solid on the screen too). Her singing was pretty horrible, but at least she made an attempt to get away. Somewhat tragic timing in the end, talk about being unlucky; even though she was a bit of a bitch I did feel sorry for her. 0 cats and 0 decapitations.
