Even dumber than the original. I had to take my little brother and his friends to this movie for his birthday party, so screw this movie for that.

Lionheart VS Saladin. Cao VS Bai. von Blücher VS Bonaparte. Iceland VS Team USA. Seeing this for the first time in a decade, the hockey sequences are good... like really good. Exceptional, even. The spacial placement, movement, characterization of the kids, their gifts, the stakes, carefully intercut and edited to a pitch - all beautifully choreographed. And it's thankfully a third of the running time (since some of the rest hasn't aged well: We will, we will, Quack you).

I get the distinct feeling that the Iceland team was originally written to be Russian. Thankfully someone remembered that the Cold War ended years before and made the appropriate changes, I guess.

Struggles to really position the Ducks as convincing underdogs when they’re already state champs. Overall even more cliche than the original; our team cocky, evil team, initial loss, personal problems resolved, training montage, comeback win. Just straight up Rocky III formula.

I don't want to ruin it for you, but if you haven't seen this one, remember what happened in the first one, then age the cute kids into annoying puberty and there you go.

Pretty much exactly what you would expect from a MIGHTY DUCKS sequel (though it’s more a remake than a sequel, sometimes scene for scene) – a passable underdog sports movie that still never really justifies a reason for being; there’s no real conflict here, and because none of the kids ever step forward from the rabble to take the narrative load, the film ends up being vague and unfocused, (spoiler I guess) undermining any joy you might get from the team’s ultimate victory.

The bash brothers are cool, but there are too many problems with the movie. In the 1v1 during practice, Coach Bombay misses his second shot against Coach Stansson and all of the kids act like it went in. Yeah, I saw that Sam Weisman. The kids taking off their USA uniforms in favor of a Minnesota local team is nothing short of a national embarrassment.

Another formulaic sports film that features more action than the original but is essentially the same. Estevez is better in this installment, and the new characters aren't bad. Take or leave.

Perhaps more fun than the original (not in relation to how good or bad it is), this is certainly not a film that has aged well and is well and truly stuck in the 90s, but from a nostalgia perspective, it's still entertaining. It did surprise me that the cast was quite diverse for film in the era.

Not as good as the first one. But this movie would set the stage for Anehiem to get this logo for their nhl team. Now it's the coach with team USA becoming the heros in this movie. Most notable thing in this movie is that black guy who shoots the knuckle puck. Really he was good here. Don't need the guy to be at the NHL awards.
