Cutterhead

Best film I saw in 2019. A short, tight, pressure-cooker of a survival film set in an industrial under-sea drilling machine. The tension is ratcheted up time after time in one of the most intense and claustrophobic scenarios I've seen. Decent script and good acting too. The kind of realistic horror film that can give nightmares.

I prefer low budget films because they dont tend to dissappear into the realms of fantasy and CGI. My partner watched this with me, and said "when is something going to happen?" .. but when it does, this a great little story, beautifully acted, and as gritty and realistic as you like. It reminded me of 'The Descent', for some reason! I think the script could have explored the "I want to survive at all costs" aspects a little more, as it was hinted at, rather than stated; it would add 10 points

Points for being intense despite the low budget shining through. Biggest problem is the unlikeable protagonist.
