I had high hopes for this -- a Western Vampire genre-bender! -- but was sadly disappointed. They spent about a buck ninety-eight on this: endless scenes of second-rate actors just yammering at each other on tiny sets straight from the warehouse. The poster is the best part of the movie: rest assured you will find nothing in the picture half so evocative. Don't waste your time on it.

While I appreciate the idea of a cowboy vampire, the whole movie was so generic that it felt like there was no point in even spending the time to watch it. I wish they would have done more with the horror elements of a vampire in the Wild West.

Does a good job incorporating vampiric lore into an Old Timey Western. The script itself is pretty much a classic Western that could be taken off of any movie or TV pilot. While this adaption is more or less a ghost story that makes for a more supernatural take on vampires which itself is refreshing (besides the desert setting). That they even found a way to have their shoot out at high noon is even more admirable. Worth checking out for those that are curious or lovers of both genres.

Released at the height of the television-western craze, the flick sports the claustrophobic, unatmospheric look of a TV episode and suffers from some glaring miscasting, most notably urban-thug specialist Gordon ("The Untouchables"'s Frank Nitti) as the local heavy. "Rawhide" boss Fleming is a tad too understated as Preacher Dan. Pate turns in the best work here. The vampire elements fare a bit better than the dull sagebrush cliches but don't come into play until midflick

By no means great but fun in its own unique way.

Glad to have found this one! A Vampire Western! Great fun for the 1950s sci-fi/monster genre.

With a better cast, it really could've been something.
