Curse of the Puppet Master

Aside from a few brutal death scenes... this movie sucked...

Lacking any of whatever redeeming qualities that the first five had this sixth installment has no late-80's nostalgia, develops the universe no further, and is lacking in the kill department. This one is exactly what you would expect from a Full Moon sequel--a unenthusiastic attempt to turn whatever franchise loyalty they have into pocket change.

I'm not sure what this commercial was advertising: action figures or tighty whities.

Typical sixth film in a slasher franchise: The victims are all baddies so you won't feel too sorry for them. The girl is hot but no one can act. Some of the kill scenes are cute but they arrive late and there's a lot of crappy plot to put up with until then. As usual in Puppet Master, most of the blood is drawn by Blade and Tunneler. Pinhead, Six Shooter and Jester help in one or two scenes. Torch and Leech Woman are present but never lift a finger. A doll being made of wood ends up electronic.

A decent premise is spoiled by incompetent story telling and a hack production. Takes about 45 minutes to get anywhere, then it just stutters and stalls. Freakshow settling is all but forgotten by the production. SPOILER: And why after methodically showings us a wood carver literally putting his soul into making a wood puppet is it suddenly a robot tank with a mini-TV screen for a head? Wreaks of executive thinking.

Its a curse for these puppets but they still make sure the innocent is well protected
