Interesting drama of the true events of people with leprosy being isolated on a island to be treated. Not sure if I appreciated the gender angle they chose to tell the story from. The fact that the US government, their colonial masters, were using Filipino people as guinea pigs for their research on leprosy felt like a bigger issue, but mothers and children are one of the main tropes of pinoy cinema so it had to be here. But it's well acted, even if they don't get the best out of the material.
