As both an idiot and a lover of industrial Brazil-esque production design, I have to admit that I enjoyed Cube Zero far more than I should have.

A lot better than Hypercube, but no where near as good as the original. Cheesy acting and cliched b-movie stuff let this film down. And while the ending is good, I don't know why they didn't use the original cube design...

Took the story nowhere. Fun deaths though, if you're into that sort of thing (which you probably are if you're watching this).

An unfortunately tedious (and cheaply made) finale to the CUBE trilogy leans heavily into graphic violence and torture porn, which makes many of the centerpiece scenes increasingly difficult to watch or stomach. An intriguing idea to send one of the guards in to play the game, but it adds nothing to the series mythos; in fact tends to undermine the more sinister implications of the unseen “designers” of the earlier entries. Weak, labored performances from all and sundry definitely don't help.

This third Cube movie is actually at its most watchable in the scenes outside the cube, cause than it does something new and adds to the story instead of being a tiresome rehash of the former movies.

the ending where they send him back into the cube, after rendering him mentally handicapped is so funny cause first of all... why would they do that, he seems much less tormented that way. and its such a goofy nod to the first like "remember THAT handicapped guy? maybe this is why he was like that?!". really makes you appreciate how the original just left things a mystery. that guy was just like that, the cube existed for no justifiable reason, etc

My favourite of the franchise. Goes much more into the horror genre but that's not a critisism. Finally gives you the answers to alot of the questions the series has asked. Dark ending which I loved and overall a great film.

I didn't use to enjoy this movie. My original score was 60%, but upon rewatch, I can see that it's much more balanced than the other films, has upgraded visuals, better performances all around, and answers to burning questions. I think, thanks to technicalities, it's a better movie (but I prefer the first two movies)

Rather enjoyable third installment into the cube. I like the psychological aspects of the flick, with the man behind the curtain scenario. If only they had a larger budget this could have been really good.

Hey, it's a horror movie about how everyone does their little bit in the horror machine rather than risk their neck. Cool. So why does the main villain act like he's Rik Mayall auditioning for Bond villain? Far better than Cube 2, but suffers badly from trying to do two very different takes on the same story at once, and inevitably falls apart towards the end.

Beats the second film, but that really isn't a big merit. The tone of the film is just off. It is brave to attempt such a different, comedic take on the series, but they fail quite badly. Acting is on the same level as in the previous films, pretty horrible. Recommended only for those who really liked the first two movies.

The beginning had me expecting a dissection of Cube films with the technician/viewer enabling the production of torture porn and being complicit in the murder of people/brain cells. No such luck, the dynamic between the cube and it's caretakers is barely acknowledged and it's just a forgettable rehash of the earlier films.

Better than the second movie, but still not as good as the first. You get SOME backstory on what the Cube is all about, but it isn't very revealing. Some characters are really odd, and I think in the end it raises more questions than it answers, but it's worth watching if you really loved Cube. I just advise staying as far as possible from Cube 2, unless you really want to see how bad it is. Each story stands on its own, so you can watch them out of order.

Having really enjoyed the original Cube, watching Zero feels like having really enjoyed a pizza only to later discover that it was prepared by a smelly racist who refuses to wash his hands after going to the bathroom and had sex with your mother (and never called back).

It's probably a good thing that this prequel didn't even try to take itself seriously. The overacting by the supervisor was probably the most enjoyable part.

Better than the second but still in the shadow of the first: a bird with some good ideas but that can't take off in the end. [Direction 6/10] [Screenplay 3/10] [Characters 6/10] [Soundtrack 4/10] [Acting 4/10] [Editing 5/10] [Cinematography 4/10] [Enjoyment 14/30]

A prequel to Cube that is only worth watching for Cube fans since it gives that film some back story (but did it need it? No) It falls flat in every other aspect though

Let down by excessive amounts of uneeded lunacy in the last third. Still interesting concepts throughout. Some poor acting / voice dub work in the cube too unfortunately. Still cube fans will get something out of it.

It was disturbing, and just a tinge less than riveting. My significant other had problems with the acting, but I didn't notice anything bad about that. I felt like I was going to have nightmares afterwards and couldn't stop thinking about it all the rest of that day.

A complete let down. If you think this movie will expand on the Cube series, you are in for a major disappointment! The acting is third class. The traps are second rate. There is nothing about this that made if my first favorite movie. Do NOT watch it if you like the Cube series, it will only sour them.

This adds nothing new to the series. In the end the only thing it offers for entertainment are the deaths, it's sad when that's all a movie offers.

A prequel which answers questions about the first film that no one really asked. The Cube itself is still a cool set and concept, and the characters aren't too atrocious, but it's really more of the same.
