Nick Frost's version of Run Fatboy Run, takes on the world of Salsa dancing. It has some really funny moments and some head scratching moments too. I don't know how much actual Salsa dancing Frost did, but if that was him doing those moves, bravo. The dancing was excellent in the film. I also loved the dance fight between Frost and O'Dowd. Rashida Jones was the object of obsession between the two men and I could see why...

Nick Frost is a Fat Man who pines for a Hot Woman. He is an Underdog and we Root For Him. The Fat Man has a Hidden Talent that he will need in order to woo the Hot Woman. He is opposed by a Douchebag Rival but has an Eclectic Group of Friends to Cheer Him On, including a Gruff Male Authority Figure. Everything comes to a head at the Climactic Competition. This scenario is as old as the hills, but it's irresistible if it's done right, and Frost et. al. do it right. Salsa!

Part RomCom, part feel-good-film; Cuban Fury is decent light entertainment with a positive message about self-affirmation. Frost, Colman and Novak were good. Jones has chemistry with everyone she's on screen with. O'Dowd's character is a little on the nose with the level of chauvinism he portrays. McShane and Kinnear's talents were underused, though they were good in their supporting roles. Plus an unnecessary cameo from Pegg. Clichéd but fun, it's a better dance film than the Step Up flicks.

Nick Frost is great in this loser becomes a stud comedy. Chris O'Dowd is the perfect asshole in this movie about Frost's character overcoming a trauma that happened to him when he was a child. The story of a young boy who loved to dance but was cruelly beaten up for the thing he loved is relateable for us all. Ian McShane plays the teacher with a heart of iron who chooses to help Frost's character after he finds out Rashida Jones is also into Salsa dancing. Cuban Fury is a good date movie.

It was decent, I wanted more Ian McShane and Olivia Colman.

Effort put into making this movie in any way memorable: zero. It's incredibly cliche and predictable, but harmless and light fun. Nick Frost is a likeable lead (though his dancing scenes are heavily edited!), Chris O'Dowd plays a way over the top perverted villain, and Kayvan Novak provides a few laughs as the flamboyant Iranian dancer.

A jolly if not particularly laugh-out-loud comedy which held several strong characters that were seemingly thrown to the wayside in order to make room for more dance sequences. I was left wanting to know so much more about Ian McShane and Olivia Colman's characters rather than following the central love story to its inevitable conclusion.

I expected better, this film is really just a box-ticking template New British Comedy, written, directed and acted to within an inch of its life to please some committee of investors. Rashida Jones was lovely, Nick Frost was unconvincing, most of the jokes fell flat and the dance scenes - although too heavily edited - were the best part of the film because no-one was speaking. Simon Pegg's cameo was one of the better jokes which isn't saying much. A few points for music and production design.

There's so little to commend or recommend here. It's got a nice cast, and thankfully Olivia Coleman provides a modicum of entertainment, but the characters simply don't work. Their relationships are shallow and pointless, most of the jokes miss their mark and everything is all a bit dull. You'll probably go into this hoping for a light-hearted easy watch with a few laughs based on the strength of the cast, but it's a flat, predictable borefest.

Good cast, but ultimately a rather by-the-numbers flick. Minus points because Ian McShane falls out of his shitty british accent from scene to scene.

Nothing great, but if you're a fan of Nick Frost's previous work (I.E. his stuff with Simon Pegg) then this you might as well watch this. It doesn't stack up well next to the Cornetto trilogy, but there are some laughs to be had. They might be a bit few and far between, but they are in there and it's not too difficult to get through the connecting bits either.

Saw it a while ago, and now I'm just curious what was my reasoning to waste time on it. It's one of those variations-on-the-same type of movies, when you can tell the whole plot of it after seeing the first 5 minutes. It left me no impression whatsoever; light entertainment.

A delightful little film. Nick Frost plays the protagonist well, but most of the other characters are admittedly pretty generic. Chris O'Dowd especially felt a bit underused. Despite it following the formula to a T I still had a good time. Helps that the cast is so likable and it realizes it's supposed to be light and fun.

Doesn't aim for greatness, but does exactly what it sets out to do. It's funny, heartfelt and charming at times, but the direction and writing are nowhere near great. Just a nice feelgood comedy that passes 100 minutes in a feathery light fashion.

Exactly what you want and expect it to be and not one step further. Charming and well acted, Nick is great and gets to shine away from mssrs. Pegg & Wright, O'Dowd is a perfect arse and McShane is underused.

Some critics have slammed this film but i think this was hilarious! There were plenty of gags throughout all of which hit there mark! I enjoyed the relationships between all of the characters and Chris O'Dowd played the protaganist who is incredibly hateable! The ending is a little cliche though but I had a blast with this film so Im happy to let it slide.
