The catalog entries for these Spanish-American war promotional reenactments like to emphasize the "fine smoke effects." This one also features a man climbing down from a second story window (which doesn't seem like it would be bright thing to do when you're launching a perfectly good ambush, but makes for more exciting footage, I guess).
