I have little opinion of the movie except that the characters are accurate to what they'd be like in real life. Little is learned, little is experienced. Then it ends.

A very accurate portrayal of these kinds of people.

I really hated this movie at first. Michael Cera's character was insufferable, even if it was a realistic one, and it seemed to just be a pointless drug movie. But as the film continued, I found myself taken on a journey that felt surprisingly meaningful and interesting.

I really really dug this movie. Awesome character study and beautiful locations....well done! My favorite Michael Cera role thus far. Funny and bittersweet.

Another one of those films that seems to think that boring the audience is profound. Profundity apparently means sod all happening for the first 30 minutes

The thing about drug movies is whether they're good or not entirely depends on if you've shared that experience with that particular drug. I can see why this has so many low score but let me attest, this is pretty dead on. Having known a few Pollo's and Crystal Fairy's in my day I was literally panicking while watching this. They are the worst people in the world to take drugs with, especially psychedelics. Equally yet oppositely annoying. For that, along with the flashbacks, I didn't hate it.

I really liked both the character of Crystal Fairy and the one Michael Cera plays, they were both fleshed out really well. At points it gets a little loose narratively, but overall I really enjoyed the ride along with this group of characters.

While I ordinarily appreciate a writer-director's ability to draw on their own experiences, Crystal Fairy is an indulgent bore. Silva casts himself & his brothers to enjoy a drug filled trip at his producers' expense. The characters are intentionally annoying (Cera in particular), bonding over the course of the film; ironically I just found them more infuriating. As much of the dialogue was improvised, & the actors seem to play familiar roles, I struggle to call their performances good acting.

It may not be much, but it is very real. A story of a kid growing out of being a selfish asshole.

Micheal Cera does an excellent job in this film at playing a very unlikeable character. Gaby Hoffmann also does great work with her character in this movie. The script is definitely character based and it is not heavy on plot. There are some interesting moments and some slow ones. Overall I would recommend this film.

Came in blind as to what it was about, I had enjoyed Silva's MM. Again there are well-done characters and lovely sense of place. A pair from opposite ends of the drug-taking spectrum get stuck with each other. Found it pretty tense, willing them to make it through OK. A nice bit of journey-not-the-destination-y drama.

Aimless stoner comedy-drama establishes a potentially intriguing cultural conflict--it riffs on the idea of the entitled and annoying American tourists acting like jackasses on foreign land--but it goes nowhere fast, and the largely improvised approach results in an outcome that is more tedious than lively. The loosely structured, intermittently plot driven narrative and lo-fi production values cannot disguise the cliche ridden story, but boy does it try to convince otherwise.

A very simple story with a very simple ending. Nothing much happens but you didn't really expect much to happen from the off for some reason I liked it.

Wasn't at all what I was expecting and that is basically a bad thing with this kind of movie. Mostly because I expect amazing imagery and at least a likable character or two.

It's not horrible but it literally made me mad because of how much of an asshole Michael is in this.

Trivial road/drug movie starring Michael Cera as an egoistical, whinny man-child (his character reminded me of someone I know and went on a similar trip once). Not much happens in the film, and whatever happens isn't interesting.

Doesn't really amount to much. Jamie's character is a shallow, insufferable asshole, and probably the worst person you'd ever want to trip with. Crystal Fairy should have fucked him in the ass. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen, and the movie ends rather abruptly, with very little character development and a poor sense of completion. Is there anything worse than a room of white kids doing cocaine with one another? Probably not

I've never been one for stoner movies, but this is definitely a good example of how to do it right. Overall though, it doesn't feel like a completely successful movie, more like the director putting to film an excerpt from his life, which out of context made me feel like I didn't know enough going in, and at the end I feel so cheated, wanting to know more.

The movie was pretty good Michael Cera is a sick dude and I can't believe that was the little girl from Uncle Buck.

dug the first half's comedy-of-awkwardness/loathsomeness (it's telling how easily even the most harmless of typecast comic actors can put the same basic schtick toward insufferably prickish ends), but this ain't no THE COMEDY, and the conflict between american paternalism/entitlement & chilean passive acceptance is too tidily resolved via old-hat stoner-bromance-road trip arcs.
