Cry Wolf

Errol Flynn is nicely low-key, and truly evil (or so it seems). And Babs is her usual winning self. Then there's Geraldine Brooks when she was just a squirt! A pretty squirrelly resolution though (as I increasingly suspected was gonna be the case).

Rather fun mystery/thriller, especially if you can manage not to be annoyed by the final act. Stanwyck is good, and looks fabulous, as she always does when dressed by Edith Head (by this time, it appears that she was Stanwyck's personal costume designer). Flynn is quite serviceable--better than I expected.

I recognize that Cry Wolf (1947) wasn't the most well-focused psychological creepers out there, but the thrill of seeing Errol Flynn & Barbara Stanwyck work together was enough for me.

Loved this one! Great film noir/thriller with a twist! Two great names: Flynn and Stanwyck!

I guess '47 was a bad year for Flynn because the only two terrible movies he ever made both came out that year. This is one of them.

Thoroughly average mystery-thriller that wants to be Rebecca, but lacks style or verve. Errol Flynn phoned it in, and even Barbara Stanwyck can't rise above the material.
