Crooked House

Sure there's murder and intrigue, but imagine trying to hang pictures straight!

A whodunnit with many unsatisfying performances and forced deliveries. They tried to create an interesting eccentric family but failed to make it believable or particularly entertaining. Some of the dialogs were very poor. Glenn Close was mostly annoying. I liked the scenes with Christina Hendricks, Julian Sands, and Stefanie Martini. Worth watching but not great.

Solid whodunit, although I expected a bit more noire since beginning was quite promising.

The best Agatha Christie adaptation in my opinion. The killer was not immediately obvious and the finale was great and fitting. The negatives however, were that it was prolonged and the actor portraying the detective was awful. But brilliant role by Gillian Anderson!

Never a fan for locked room mysteries, I was only impressed by "Crooked House" insofar as it had eluded my radar for having notable actors and high production values. Better than expected, but the pretty decent and recent adaptation of "Murder on The Orient Express" begs the question, why waste your time on the same thing only not as good?

Leave it to the Brits to take an intriguing Agatha Christie story and turn it into a boring pile of shit. Hey Brits, give up! You suck at filmmaking!

Never gripping but consistently interesting. Well produced and performed, but never transcendent or memorable. Decent.

Una Glenn Close sprecata in questo adattamento mediocre e senza verve. Si lascia guardare perchè il soggetto di partenza è pur sempre di Agatha Christie, ma la vicenda è troppo raffazzonata e le atmosfere lontane da quelle dei suoi libri.
