Cary Grant caught in a dictator run country forced to operate on the hated leader. Shares similarities to State Secret (1950) which came out the same year, but it's less of an escape than being a prisoner in a foreign country having to debate freedom. A lot to like. Grant is firm in his believes and makes the scenes count. Lacks perhaps an extra emotional edge, or Hitchcock sharpness to the thriller aspects, but it's got a lot going for it.
