"What do you think's happening? A guy got creamed. That's what's happening. Happens all the time." - Stephen King talking about a hit and run victim a dozen years before he would be struck in a hit and run himself.

A rewatch for me. I didn't care for it. Each story felt really slight, a bit dull and mildly unpleasant. The raft one was probably the best of them, with a couple of nice gore effects, but that was about it. Has none of the charm or quality of its predecessor.

I still don't understand the Raft segment. There's a killer garbage bag floating in the lake, and the first thing this guy does when he wakes up is sexually assault the woman he is with? Maybe the film just wanted to discuss the larger issue of sexual assault and how engrained it is in our culture. Or maybe they just wanted to show boobs.

The Raft is a great story but the other two are not scary and uninteresting. The first creepshow showed some promise. It's a shame they didn't do more with King's stories, since those have usually been what saves the series.

I agree with Riptide0 who says that the lake blob story was a lot more worthy than the rest of the film and should have been expanded/reimagined into its own feature film.

It's hard to imagine this installment being considered any worse than its predecessor since King & the director seem to deliver exactly what a fan of this kind of film would be looking for. Anthologies always vary in quality and the first film is the lamer of the three here, w/ a storyline that telegraphs exactly what will happen a good 10 minutes before it does. The 2nd story, despite featuring dumb teens, is surprisingly the most compelling as you never know exactly how they'll escape.

Cheap sequel that lacks the style, charm and invention of Romero's original, even if it's possible to make an argument that these stories are more socially/politically engaged. Nonetheless, this engagement is superficial and not equal to 'They're Creeping Up on You', which dealt with race and class far more effectively, not to mention cleverly, with a more successful mix of menace and mirth. The animated sequences are also amateurish and hopelessly dated.

Bit cheesy and cheap, and not creepy beside one of the tales, but it was better than I expected. The first and last tale even seemed to have some work done with the characters, they were not as flat as those in many 80s horror movies

While it's not without many flaws, personally I found this one to be a bit of a step up from the original. The animation is rather crude & not really in a good way, but the performances are solid- particularly from Lois Chiles, George Kennedy, & Holt McCallany- & the stories themselves are all enjoyable. The first is by far the best & the third the weakest, but they all have good elements- could've done without Rapey Randy, though. That was silly. All said, this one's worth a watch.

The sequel to the horror anthology "Creepshow". You actually get 4 stories in this one. Three separate spooky tales brought to you by a ghoulish narrator and also an animated tale intertwined among them.

Out of three stories (four counting the cartoon framing story), exactly one holds up: "The Raft", one of King's best short stories which works fairly well on screen as well despite some... questionable acting and direction. As for the rest, meh.

It isn't often sequels live up to their originators. This one I didn't enjoy as much as the first. Tom Savini rules in it and I wish there was more of him vs. the animation. Bang up special effects on the Lake scene too.

Not a touch on the original but still has that 80s charm and sublime practical effects. The animated linking segments are of the same vomit inducing quality as the Zelda CD-I games and the stories themselves all have great build-ups with less-than-satisfying payoffs. Still worth a watch.

Wooden Indian: predicatably lame with a good performance from George Kennedy.
The Raft: the best segment of the bunch brought down a notch by 80s hair and man speedos.
The Hitchhiker: ripoff of a Twilight Zone made unbearably awful by bad script and editing and ultimately played for laughs (I think).

Two glaring flaws going against it. Most of the actors suck (especially compared with the original) & terrible, animated sequences connecting each story.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but I actually liked Creepshow 2 more than the original. Maybe it's due to the fact that I saw them on VHS over the summer during my teenage years, but the stories here were more compelling to me at the time, and I remember them more fondly than those in the original.

Was wishing that this would end midway through The Hitchhiker. Old Chief Wooden Head was too much setup with too little payoff. The Hitchhiker was a five-minute gag extended for a half hour. The Raft was fun, but I'm a sucker for aquatic-based horror. The wraparound story wasn't very interesting. If nothing else, I will say that Stephen King's cameo was pretty funny.

Creepshow 2, even without the star power of the first, manages to hold true to the 50s style horror comic. Some nice stories where the bad guys win and the witty follow up by the narrator. Often times people remember stories from this movie more then the first. Creepshow 2 is definetly worth watching if ou are in to the 80s style horror movie.

The wooden native american story is stupid and unscary. The Hitchhiker story is stupid and unscary. The Blob one is actually fairly well done and almost makes up for the others. That should've been made into full-length feature.

I remember "The Raft" scaring me worse than anything when I was a kid. Watching it now, I'm able to laugh at it. The three stories in Creepshow 2 aren't horror masterpieces by any stretch of the imagination, but they succeed in entertaining. While not as campy and classic as the original Creepshow, Creepshow 2 still deserves respect.
