Needed some Rocky, felt weird without him doing anything. Boxing scenes are ridiculous, real fun refreshing as hell to watch a movie like this and be under 2 hours. Feel ancient whenever there's a flashback to a character as a kid and 9/11 has already happened.

Great advertisement for Jordan's roids dealer. Wife loved the climactic bout, but I thought it was ordinary. Half the sportive excitement of your average UFC/ONE/etc event, and nothing much else to offer really. Movies have all the time in the world, and unlimited takes, but still can't get anywhere near pro wrestling. Meh.

Jonathan Majors adds some formidable weight to an already compellingly scripted estranged friendship scenario. It's Warrior translated to the boxing ring, albeit not as memorable - familiar montages resurface and the climactic fight scene feels like a missed opportunity - but a smooth and fun watch nonetheless.

A youth tragedy coming to catch up with the champ promises more intricate drama in the first meeting with Majors than the Rocky formula can finally manage. Dame's first fight is scarier than the finale - the unpredictable in character and story is still there. The film then fails in many regards, but it points toward Jordan as a director with potential - he gives it a dynamic, fresh, and modern vibe.

Well ... this is really more like it. This series really steps out from the shadow of the "Rocky" series and feels like it's own thing here. It's no joke that there are hints of "Cape Fear" here, and I thought the slightly darker tone was welcome. Jonathan Majors is a full blown character here, not just some cryptic, hulking threat like Drago Jr. It's a really great performance ... both thoughtful and physically imposing.

Jordan does as amazing of a job behind the camera as he does in front! It's great to see such a touching family dynamic have the time to blossom on screen and not be pushed aside. The fight scenes are some of the best, most original in the series. Damien is a fantastic character and the story challenges Creed on the emotional level. The training montage could have done more to reconcile his mistakes and it could have been shorter, but this movie proves this series still packs a serious punch!

As ridiculous as this same old platitudinal garbage may be, I'm so desensitized by this point that what really bothered me was that the character of "heavyweight" Felix Chavez (played by real-life welterweight Jose Benavidez) looks nothing like a heavyweight should. Which may have explained why he's so easily beaten by the film's villain, who is older and extremely inexperienced, but a few categories larger; except that in reality such a fight would never have happened professionally.

Jonathon majors and his character I think is the true success to this movie. I think if they would have copied rocky 1 it would been a classic.

Better than the second, not as good as the first. I know it's weird to not have Rocky in this, but I actually liked how that allowed the film to focus more on Adonis Creed's past and have him fight some demons of his own. Jonathan Majors is great as a nuanced villain and the film goes back to doing what the franchise does well - filming high stakes, adrenaline-fueled boxing scenes.

Creed durmaz. Vurdum mu yapıştırır? Creed'in geçmişine odaklanıyoruz. Arkadaşıyla Dame ile beraber yaşayan Creed, bakıcı babasını dövmeye başlar. Dame hayatını kurtarır. Fakat hapse girer.

Attempts to reckon with the class-dynamics that Rocky III didn't quite address, but this just kind of ends up tip-toeing around it in similar fashion. The mid-film fight sequence is quite strong, though, and that moment where Damian tries to remove his mouth guard is as visceral as anything else in this franchise.

This series is a little cheesy and I always felt something was missing but this one is quite a bit better than the second. The second half saved the film with some strong suspense and training sequences.

If you are a man and want to feel self-conscious about your body, fast forward to the boxing scene at the end. Maybe this is just a me thing. This is really goofy, and borders on camp in parts (the jailhouse fantasy boxing scene especially), but it is held together by some great acting.

Michael B. Jordan manages to make a franchise that’s 9 movies in now, feel fresh. Regardless if it clicks when you or not, Jordan brings his own flare to the action and manages to tell a really complex story despite how linear its scope is and the challenges of the limitations sports movies usually fall into. Majors brings this franchise its best villain yet, and it feels like this pairing really delivered. There might be a rushed 3rd act and an unresolved subplot, but that’s just nitpicking.

Jordan shows a lot of promise as a director. Particularly his willingness to play with the well worn arena of boxing action. Unfortunately, the plotting is a little clumsy, but all in a all, a very watchable entry in the Rocky/Creed canon.

It was pretty good. Not really better nor worse than the other films, and thus kinda unnecessary. But if you want to see more of these things (like it seems that I did), why not. I have to say it felt like it could have been a bit more nuance. The side thing about the daughter and teaching her how you can't solve all the problems by fighting became entirely pointless when he very much solved a complex problem just by fighting. I get that it was paving round for a sequel but it felt weird.

Last fight aside -- which provides some cool slowmo shots and shit -- backstory feels a little trite and Jordan's character seems to have reached some sort of dead end -- I mean, it's so predictable he's gonna fight his old friend to resolve some unfinished business, that's why it's kinda impossible to care about anything happening here besides the actual boxing material. I hope they franchise the kid, Amara Creed, though, in the next few years.

A slightly different direction with this Creed. No Rocky this time, letting Creed stand on his own feet and create his own legacy. Grew on me, mainly because Jonathan Majors was such a strong bad guy to Michael B. Jordan's straight guy, and the story of their youth created the chemistry and heat the feud in Creed II lacked.

W4E1P1S1V1M1A1R1. Score feels a little low because I did have this knot in my chest nearly the entire movie, an edge-of-my-seat kind of feeling. Cinderella Man vibes in that way. But I felt like it could have done more with the interesting premise. Some cheesy directorial choices too.

A generous 7.0 for this one. I enjoyed most of the acting with Majors and Jordan being quite good, but there were a lot of elements that rubbed me the wrong way. Having the actor playing Chavez be a heavyweight champ is a mess. Guy looks to be a natural welterweight (147lbs) so that took me out of it. Creed himself would be a light heavy at 175 but I've let that pass since he moved up in weight during the trilogy. Didn't mind the CGI polished fight scenes like others have. Good, but not great.

The performances are on point, but the story feels like it's missing key pieces. It just doesn't have enough room to breathe and properly explore its conflict, especially when Majors is giving his role far more than a ROCKY antagonist requires. Shit happens, then you fight.

Went into this film after watching ONLY the original Rocky. I actually enjoyed the Creed character a lot. The story involving his family and relationships was a bit compelling, though the ending set piece left a bit to be desired. The very opening boxing match was the highlight of the film.

Jordan pulls double duty here and you would never know this is his directorial debut. Majors is the most compelling part of this movie as Jordan has played his character before. What we get are intimate secrets from Adonis' past that all come rushing back into his life. The fight scenes are top notch but it is the smaller more tense moments of Damiens drive and unrelenting fury that really set this one apart. Not quite as good as the first but a slight improvement from the second. A solid film.

Probably weakest of the Creed trilogy, but still a solid boxing drama. Fights pack some impressive punch (except when the finale gets a little too French new wave-y, though I did like the novel baseball diamond setting). Predictable but with solid performances all around. Bit weird that there’s references to Don King and Muhammad Ali - like in this universe shouldn’t George Washington Duke and Apollo Creed exist instead of those people? Lol whatevs; another solid installment.

I think there are certain story beats and logic points that might have needed a few more rounds of questioning in pre-production, but the cinematography involved in filming the Creed v. Dame fight was next-level fantastic; probably the best-looking movie boxing I've seen. Interesting explorations of grief and guilt, which are hallmarks of these franchises, and MBJ shows that he's not just a talented actor, but he's got directorial chops as well. Jonathan Majors delivers a can't-miss performance.

While the plot may appeal to fans of the Rocky franchise or boxing movies in general, it falls short of its potential and fails to offer anything new or original to the genre. It is a decent addition to the Creed series but lacks the heart and depth of the original Rocky films.

It works better when it's a sports story than when it is a character drama, but despite those moments of overindulgence, it can't be denied that Jordan is a talented director.

After seeing a movie I didn't like, I ask myself: "But I liked the part when..." and nothing comes to mind other than trying to put the names to the famous boxing cameo faces that I see every weekend. I didn't care about the story at all. These "Creed" movies suck.

Creed III has the best boxing scenes in the series. Apart from that, the motivations of the characters in the story are very good, and the handling of the family and the father-daughter relationship is also excellent. The dynamism between Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors is phenomenal. Considering this is Jordan's directorial debut, I think he did a decent job. (Paribu Cineverse Metrogarden - 03/05/2023)

This is a wonderfully made movie all around. Majors is great as someone who is sympathetic at first and then menacing, Jordan is once again great in this role. But Jordan impressed me most as a director. There are some seriously beautiful shots here, and he killed the dark atmosphere along with the more flashy media/boxing segments. Emotional. My only problem is, I'm a Rocky fanatic, and I feel the absence of Rocky. I kept thinking "Rocky would have something cool to say here." But that's on me.

Wondering whether the Rocky franchise could continue on without the star himself, I think Creed III proves it can work. The third film doesn’t really do anything new or unexpected, but is a solid engaging watch from start to finish, and that’s decent enough for me.

Creed III takes masculinity seriously and explores Adonis Creed's troubled relationship with his friend Damian. However, it feels turgid and overlong due to a slow-paced backstory. Jonathan Majors' performance as Damian is excellent, but the movie could have been more exciting if Michael B. Jordan had allowed it to be more colorful.
