Everything that's wrong with society can be found in here somewhere. Don't get me wrong: I really do like over the top violence, gratuitous gore, and brainless film outings. But the sensibility here is somewhere between Seth MacFarlane and Alex from A Clockwork Orange, without the hints of irony. It wouldn't surprise me if people jerked off to this.

'Crank 2' has an IQ of about ten, so being as stupid as it is, it only succeeds in style. The movie is ultra-frenetic, super fast-paced and not as embarrassing as 'Transporter 3'. My problem with this is that every single frame committed to this project is sickeningly depraved. The filmmakers sink so low, pulverizing the audience with some of the most disturbing imagery, dialogue, scenes and characters that there's no room to enjoy it. It feels like an angry ADD teen on Speed with Parkinson's.

This movie is over-the-top. This movie is beyond over-the-top. This movie creates new tops to over, in fact. It is literally nonstop action, absurdity or sex. It's very much like a video game, and the film itself is no doubt completely aware of this, and, like most video games, the story takes a back seat. In fact the story is composed of ridiculous ways to get Chelios (Statham) into more and more intense and absurd action scenes. In the end, it's just too much.

I went in expecting an absurd spectacle, and the film delivered that in spades. It was still pretty dumb - I have no problem with it being over the top and implausible, but some of the characters were unpleasant and irritating (e.g. Venus the seizure guy) and the crudity of it all lost shock value and just became tiresome. I guess in the end, though, it felt kind of like a cotton candy binge- the visceral thrill was there, but afterwards I felt kind of disappointed in myself.

incongruously preposterous, absurd and immoderately entertaining, Crank: High Voltage is even more demented, deranged and idiotic than its predecessor. Jason Staham returns to form as the nearly impossible to kill Chev Chelios, and he provides even more tongue-in-cheek humor and hostilities against crime, this time around with the chinese. With a plotline even more incoherent and a pace backdropped by chicks with guns, a public sex scene and crazy action, what can you expect? Outstanding.

Absolutely insane. I still have no idea what I just watched, but I loved the hell out of it. This takes the craziness of the original and multiplies it by 1000, some parts are just retarded and inane, but considering it on the whole, it's a wild experience that I won't soon forget.

If the bloodier, the meaner, the more out of touch with believablity the film, the more you'll like it, this is for you. If you want a film that stays grounded, or at the very least doesn't fly off into hallucinogenic escapades, you need to skip Crank 2 until you're ready for it. Its unashamedly violent and crude to the point of absolutely sick pleasure.

I'd like to think of this as a pure expression of id, but I'm not sure I've got the faith in Neveldine/Taylor to make that statement. Certainly it's the work of savants, and wildly entertaining for its excesses at times, but on the whole it's a more confused version of the first (vastly superior) film. The punchlines are hit so much they're coming out in China, but the actual kinetics and memorable pieces of the first are lacking here. The Patton score is totally apt, as are the diversions.

There are a number of delightful sequences (including the kaiju spoof, Statham on fire at the end, the talk show, and various absurd callbacks to the first film) where Neveldine/Taylor get to flex their gonzo auteur sensibilities to great laughter. Overall though the film is unable to quite maintain the sheer thrilling "GO GO GO!!" madness as the original, particularly in the first half, which just isn't CRANK enough. Did enjoy Clifton Collins Jr. as the bad guy!

If you've seen the blend senseless and surreal violence in the original, you should already know what to expect from this. With the idiocy and incomprehensibility ramped up to the next level, you are free to sit back and enjoy/endure the spectacle of more violently guiltless humour. Outrageous I say!

When I saw the first CRANK it had me, had everybody pumped. It was insane, it was like the legal cinematic version of an Amphetamine. But to keep up the analogy CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE was like a bad trip. There was no continuity of story line, character, motivation, or even common sense, everything was right out the bloody window. That said it did get you pumped, but not really in a good way.

Crank 2 somehow outdoes it's predecessor... Don't ask me how that was possible. It is more ridiculous, foul-mouthed, sexist, violent, over-the-top and also visually inventive. If you enjoyed the first one I would recommend you watch this. If you hated Crank stay far far away. This movie entertained me overall however, I must admit during one scene in particular, involving a man's chest and a knife, I had to look away. I would imagine this is what it must feel like to be high on a speed.

Lewd and over the top. I won't say that I didn't laugh a few times, and some of the action scenes were well-done. The problem is that so much energy is spent on being "edgy", that it becomes both numbing and distracting at a point. Some folks seem to like it, and that's great, but I just couldn't get into it the same as I did with the first "Crank".

One of the funniest films I've seen in recent memory. Whether it is Ling Bai and her craziness, a homage to the Japanese kaiju genre, or straight up, fucked out of your mind shit, it all works beautifully. There is a point somewhere in this film where the absurd becomes a little too much, but it didn't do much in affecting my enjoyment.

Just imagine the first Crank on speed and you have this movie. It's entertaining but they really decided that any somewhat realistic parts that they had in the first one should be shoved by the wayside to make room for more ridiculous stuff. Definitely a movie that isn't for everyone, but if you enjoyed the first and didn't have any problems with how over the top it was you should enjoy this one as well... just make sure to turn your brain off before watching.

This Crank goes to 11.This deliberate cinematic loogie w/ extra snot has more in common w/ flicks like Ichii the Killer than any generic actioner.Willfully mindless w/ crudities stacked gleefully high, parts of it work, but films this crazed need some kind of wit 2 keep the viewer from going numb. Unfortunately, its not clever enough 2 sustain the frenetic pace& 2 much of the humor falls flat. Still, I'll take this over hyperkinetic pretentious garbage like Domino or Natural Born Killers any day

Crank 2 crosses the line and then pukes on it; it's the fever dream of a 13-year-old on crystal meth with ADD (and FBT, but never mind about that one). There are laughs to be had, but some bits don't work at all, you can feel the low budget, and it's hard to work out the "ironic" sexism/racism from the "offensive" sexism/racism. You're better off with more... wholesome (?) trash like the wonderful Grindhouse, the sly, funny Shoot 'em Up, and even, in a pinch, the first Crank.

There's a certain respect I have that builds for an enterprise like the CRANK films that just wants to go balls-out nuts to presumably cut anyone off at the pass who would dare question it - works mightily well in this case, presenting a crude, ugly, nasty, misogynistic, racist and whatever else view of the world, but does it with such a "who gives a fuck" swagger that it's just glorious entertainment. Can't quite sustain itself for the full 90 minutes, but still jaw agape fun.

The completion of everything embroiled in the action genre. When Crank 2 hits full pace, it really is something else. The film-makers have embraced the concept of MTV editing - found in every modern action film - and taken it to its logical end: editing so fast, each frame jumps off the screen and punches you in the face before you have reacted to the last one. The fights, chases and stunts in this film thus become an insane whirlwind which makes for a refreshingly challenging film. It's inventive and funny too... although not particularly high-brow!

I honestly think that Jason Statham is the best value for money actor in the biz right now. You know exactly what to expect from his films, and he always delivers. Absolutely mental from start to finish. They even had the gall to put "The characters in this film are fictitious" at the end of the credits. You mean that guy who gave himself a 10,000 volt shock, set himself on fire and then flipped off the audience is made up!? Yikes.

This one was way beyond my imagination of what Neveldine/Taylor could do in terms of grindhouse craziness: Chelios, aka Kevin Costner, needs to get his new mechanic heart beating with electricity bumps and sometimes human friction -- I mean, rough sex --, and the pair of directors shoot this extremely macho, unbelievably satirical and cheesy tale of survival with a combination of digital filmmaking and a surprising script, that gives us a porn actors strike and a Ghost Rider-like finale. Wow.

Pure madness from start to finish. It's not quite as refined as the original (which caught me off guard with how good it was), but it's far more crazy and daring. There are few moments in this movie where my brain wasn't shouting "HOLY FUCKING SHIT" at the top of its lungs. This is unfiltered insanity like only Neveldine & Taylor are capable of delivering right now. It was made cheap and looks it, but it helps with the low-rent atmosphere they're working for. This movie is like when you go to a carnival and visit a gypsy's tent. She tells you that you can have one wish and you tell her that you want to see an action movie. Not only was 2006's "Crank" a perfectly standalone film, but it also caught lightning in a bottle. Three years later, Neveldine and Taylor attempt to recapture its style and, although the deliberately ridiculous, absolutely berserk "Crank: High Voltage" has its laughs and some unexpectedly good moments, at the end of the day it's a losing game: half the time it feels as if they're trying hard to make this sequel as extreme and outrageous as possible just for the sake of it, and the effort shows.
