Court

A very interesting depiction of the Indian justice system, and particularly the divide in lifestyles between those who have a say in the proceedings (judges and lawyers) and those who have to live with the decisions. It's full of wonderful little details and by the end it manages to build a full picture which is a rather pointed critique without ever explicitly criticizing anything.

Yaşlı 1 öğretmenin, hapisten kurtarmaya çalışan avukatın hikayesi. Hint kültürünü gösteren filmimiz, suçsuz yere hapise düşen 1 öğretmen/aktivisiti kurtarma çabalarını izliyoruz. Uzun mahkeme sahnelerine karşın ilgiyle izlettiriyor. Fakat ağır 1 tempoda ilerliyor. Filmin sonunda, olayın tanıklarına göre çözümlense de, yönetmen açık kapı bırakmış. Adalet mülkün temelidir.

COURT is centred around the labyrinthine trial of a 'seditious' activist in a society which clings to rigid, oppressive 'victorian' attitudes and systems even while attempting to establish a 'post-colonial' identity. but in a subversion of genre, it's the smaller moments framing that rather dry, repetitious case which are designed to be most telling, offering a comprehensive contextual framework within which a quietly angry indictment emerges. no individual is demonised, only a failing system.

I would have like the first ending better.

What's with the long still camera shots? Slightly overdone.., otherwise don't miss this movie!
