Cotolay

Agreeable enough biblical epic is clearly working on a lower budget than the Hollywood equivalent, but manages to evoke a genuine large scale production, as well as a feel for time and place, and production design which feels authentic. The literal mindedness of the screenplay is both a help and a hindrance; the potentially pious elements are much easier to take, but it does tend to rob the storytelling of any thrust or conflict, meaning it becomes a minor chore to watch in the second half.
