“lady scientist Colonel Exposition and her crabapple wispy haired sidekick Ian McCulloch will return in ...” So many people blow up in the same disgusting manner and so much time is spent waiting for more people to blow up. I spent the run time trying to piece together what year this is suppose to take in, it looks like Spaceballs.

Although there are some decent B-movie charms and unintentional laughs to be had in this boring Italian "Alien"(1979) knockoff, sadly the majority of this bad Italian schlock is just made up of patently wonky dubbing and gratuitous exposition, which makes the movie more tedious than anything else. Only for your hardcore low-rent Italian sci-fi/horror fans.

Contamination begins semi-promisingly as a c-grade earthbound knockoff of Alien, but when the action moves to South America the viewer is subjected to near interminable stretches of utter tedium where nothing of interest happens. The slo-mo death scenes quickly grow repetitive---it's the same damn gut explosion ad nauseum/infinitum--and the score that accompanies them only adds to the hilarity (unintentionally). The pace picks up in the finale, but not enough to save it.

There is some good stuff here. The opening premise is fine, there is a good Goblin score, some of the effects are likeably icky, and there's Ian McCulloch. Sadly, the positives are weighed down by a rank script (dreadfully dubbed) and moments of abject tedium. A very low-rent attempt to cash in on the success of Alien...has some charm, but little else to recommend it.

Overall boring film but could be worse for a cheap italian Alien rip-off. It's somewhat charmingly bad and the score is hilarious.

It's surprisingly slow and boring at only 95 minutes. The story itself is not bad but the acting, dubbing and most everything else is pretty lame.

Clips along at a nice pace and the gore moments are fun, the Goblin score is also very nice. Other than that, Contamination is very formulaic and obviously 50 minutes of story stretched into 90 minutes of movie. Love the exploding rat!

A simple story told in a brisk pace make this enjoyable enough to distract from its lesser aspects.

Opening sequence is well done, but it mostly goes down hill from there with the exception of a couple of set pieces.

Fun, gory Alien knockoff that I am surprised has not been remade yet.

starts out hard as nails in the beginning, with the ship search and the exploding bodies, and corpses thrown about............then the rest of the movie is an eternal and utter bore. complete crap from then on. just pure crap.

Hilariously over-the-top-and-into-your-lap Alien sequel wannabe. Not a good movie but still hard to resist.

"The one saving grace of this film is the excellent score by Goblin."

Interesting concept which could possibly make a decent remake.
