Condorman

Scattered mash-up of most of the popular movie trends circa 70s & 80s – we get a bit of Bond, Indiana Jones, Superman and Crawford doing his best Clouseau to middling success; not particularly distinguished, and more Richard Lester than Richard Donner, but does get points for sheer likability as well as a few silly but amusing comic sequences. Somehow Jarrott seems to have put a leash on Reed, which really does the movie no favours; a more flamboyant villain might have upped the pulse a bit.

It's just too boring. The highlights are few and very far between.

Michael Crawford is pretty lame as a hero and this was a stupid movie that even offended my 10 year old sensibilities back in the day. If you enjoy watching a nebbish effeminate man flap around in a retarded costume then this might be for you. Too dumb to be a proper spoof.

Mild Disney fantasy comedy. Even with Reed chewing the scenery as the bad guy and Carrera's considerable beauty this superhero spoof hasn't much to offer.

A major influence on the comic-movie boom.

Saw it multiple times as a kid. Hard to imagine Michael Crawford in this role pre-Phatom of the Opera. Ton of action and foreign adventure without corruption from adult elements.

Who can save the city? Who? ..... Who.
