Kieslowski follows traditions of new wave cinema. It doesn't offer much content-wise, but visual style and atmosphere are rather good and likable.

Despite its limitations it's really capable of creating a certain environment for the characters - a group of students and a couple traveling; a tense situation followed by a romantic ending (being together even without a tent). It has narrative qualities that are portrayed only through images.

A modestly impressive early short from Kieslowski that i actually like more than some of his features. I sort of wish he'd done a feature length Nouvelle Vague-indebted coming-of-age movie.

Well made, not that interesting. However, I like the last couple minutes quite a bit.

It's really not that bad for a student film, lacking in depth but with a few minor complexities. The use of music is a bit too on-the-nose, but I like the camerawork, especially the POV shot of looking for the lost tent.

Another film from Kieslowski's student days, CoW presents one of my favorite shots in Kieslowski's cinema: when the woman asks to go back for the tent and stares hard at her boyfriend. Otherwise, the film is fairly standard on a narrative level, even if well done formally. I liked the use of music--not the words so much as the obnoxious sound, which remind of the effectively annoying music of Bresson's Au hasard Balthazar.
