Walken plays peekaboo with aliens and then has a mental breakdown. It's pretty entertaining stuff.

This movie isn't actually worth a 60, but I'm giving it extra points because it took me YEARS to get over that scene where Walken sees the face look around the corner. Oh my god, did I hate corners after that.

Walken's off-kilter personality didn't seem to suit the material very well; he often appears to just be taking a few stabs at it during rehearsal (rather than truly assuming the role). Maybe somebody a bit more straightforward (like Kevin Spacey) would've managed better. At any rate, in the end the whole business doesn't really add up to much--we learn that the aliens have a penchant for square-dancing, and that's about it.

Unusual take on the phenomenon of alien abduction experiences. It's mostly enjoyable for being clunky and strange, but it doesn't pass on account of the flat direction and dissatisfying conclusion to the mystery.

I can see the alien abudctions looking a bit silly, but no one knows how alien abductions would really go. No one knows the minds of beings we know nothing about. I thought the abduction scenes were interesting and complex psychologically, because of the psychosexual imagery and implications. Apart from that, it's an ok film. The story isn't that good, but the characters are alright, (Walken good) and it's a bit weird and creepy sometimes. It's not a typical horror film, and it's interesting.

This is a strange one. I made it to the end, but it's really quirky and dialogue is all over the place. Still, the alien abduction part of it, is pretty creepy.

A rare instance where casting Walken is a damaging liability rather than an asset – it seems as if this takes a page from THE SHINING’s approach by making its lead batty even before the supernatural stuff starts, but Walken’s performance stands outside of the material and almost seems to be mocking it, which only undermines the shaky ground of the alien abductions and anal probes etc. Admittedly does have some unsettling moments early on, but goes to pieces pretty quickly in the second act.

I cannot think of an actor less suited to serious horror, or whatever this is (saying this as a big Walken fan, and The Dead Zone isn't serious). Score is raised by several points for making me laugh to the point of tears with the scene near the end where he goes back to confront the aliens (1:32 onwards in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-weSfjr-iE ).

Most of the scenes felt like I was watching the outtakes. Editing and interactions between the actors were awkward. Walken channels a bit of Johnny Smith in this. Soundtrack was completely inappropriate in placement and in style for the movie to the point of distraction. Generic action music more appropriate for an 80s buddy cop movie, not a slow paced SciFi movie. You find yourself waiting for the aliens to show up and are not disappointed in both the weirdness & effects when they do.

No this isn't about eating wafers with wine, this is about aliens. Christopher Walken is a total spaz in this film, which makes it very entertaining. I felt like this movie had one of the better "abduction" scenes out of any alien film I've seen. Sure the soundtrack is very 80's, but hey, at least this came out in the 80's!...

I found it enjoyable for Christopher Walken's acting, due to his trademark pauses, but aside from that none of it was particularly enthralling. That depicting of alien abductions seemed silly, rather than scary, and the closing speeches at the end just sounded goofy rather than any sort of revelation. Plus it's got a terribly dated 80's soundtrack. I can't recommend this unless you're a huge Walken fan.

The movie is more domestic psychodrama than sci-fi. Unsatisfactory by any standard.
