The wall breaking plothole and rushed ending hurt this movie. The teacher plot is messy. The moms acting is a bit over the top. Antony Starr and the kid did okay. The atmosphere helps it, good Halloween vibes. Decent for a casual movie night.

So, the only person stronger than the little girl was homelander and his main weakness was cinnamon?

One of those frustrating horror films, where the two first acts are good (in parts even great) but it's all in service of a mediocre third act. But taken for what it is, a stylistic spooky story, it's definitely watchable.

The performances are good in this movie. This horror film starts off well with an interesting beginning and a good mood established early on. Unfortunately by the final act of the film the script has some issues. The final part of the film is discouraging. Overall this horror movie is disappointing.

Started off decently enough, but then began to drag a bit, delaying the big reveal for what felt like too long. But maybe it's good that it's delayed as long as possible, because at least the movie still feels like it has potential at that point - whereas once the reveal happens, the movie goes off the rails in the worst kind of way.

Had a few good moments, but felt disjointed and I felt bored for a lot of it. I'm not sure why but it was missing some type of spark to get it going. Still, not awful just on the lower end of the vod pile despite liking the cast. 4.5

Le film n'a pas eu le succès qu'il aurait sans doute mérité. La réalisation est très surprenante, avec une lumière parfaitement maîtrisée, et de jolis plans qui font penser à des romans macabres tous publics. Les adultes jouent très bien, je ne suis pas fan d'Antony Starr, mais je l'ai trouvé étrangement sexy dans le rôle du père. On suit l'intrigue avec un plaisir non négligeable, mais le final souffle le chaud et le froid, et frôle le film d'horreur cliché avec des méchants ridicules.

I thought this was super creepy, even though the final act drags a bit. No offense but if I was at a house with a crazy murder person I'd run away and call the cops.

I'd like to apologise to the movies that I've claimed "fall apart in third act." Usually I mean that the third act is so poor that it almost ruins the film. In Cobweb, the third act introduces elements and plot that quite literally make the first 2/3 make no sense. I'd love to just ignore the third act, really. Before that the movie was pretty good. Not so much horror but more like some sort of a creepy fairytale maybe. Could have even finished there. But no, then it gets full on stupid.

This movie exemplifies what dedication to exercise can achieve.

The daughter was ugly so they put her in a cage.

This Are You Afraid of the Dark? episode really thinks its a movie.

Just another monster movie.

Effective and wildly fun little horror about a little kid with a big imagination and his creepy home -- a demonic sister who lives in the walls and his passive-agressive mom and dad who truly can't stand him. Well-shot and imagined story about the violent, rapid dissolution of a family in the days leading to Halloween.

Cobweb is truly a gripping old-school horror story in many good ways. I found a lot more good stuff in this movie than I expected, and it made me extremely happy. The cinematography, the atmosphere and the use of the house as a horror element are incredibly good. It's frustrating, mysterious and intriguing. The script could have been written a little better, but it still managed to satisfy me.

Run-of-the-mill spooky ghost house film that centers around a kid, but it has its moments.

All I see is Homelander I just can't think of him as someone else
