Clubs Are Trump

Another Lonesome Luke short, another so-so retread of Chaplin's Keystone back catalog. Here, the whole middle half or so is a caveman comedy in the same vein as "His Prehistoric Past", framed by a generic Keystone-style park scene, complete with a big cop chase at the end.

A Hal Roach film in true Keystone fashion. Full of mayhem and no substance. Lloyd had great comic timing with his slapstick, but this is just a 'random gag' comedy with close to no coherency and a lot of caveman clubbing. Lloyd is joined by his regular crew with 'Snub' Pollard and 16 year old Bebe Daniels running around scantly. But not even that helps this random low-brow effort to become anything special.
