City of Chance

Passable crime drama, sometimes considered among the early Film Noir dilms, though it's more a standard gambling house fair mixing comedy, gangsters and a touch of romance. C. Aubrey Smith serving both as narrator and the mentor father figure in the secret casino really shows his class guiding us through this minor picture directed by well know actor Ricardo Cortez. There are some decent touches to the story, but in reality it's only a standard programmer released through Twentieth Century Fox.
