City Hunter

The crass sexism of the source material has never been my thing. This movie tries to make it work by having a more modern and respectful take on it, but I'm just not on board with that brand of laughs. This aside, what a wonderfully lively and unique movie, respectful of its source and enjoyable to watch. Recommended, if you can stand the primal booba stuff.

When the bad guys are piling in and the camera swirls around while guns pop and bones break, this is great! The choreography is really engaging! Unfortunately, that happens around twice in a movie otherwise trying hard and failing to be funny or interesting. Disappointing.

This doesn't always work and the story was a bit convoluted but the energy was there and Suzuki Ryohei fit the role well.
