Playful, somewhat brutal (when you consider what the army is doing), fun, meaningful, artistic and intelligent. Chromophobia tackles the idea of individuality--both seemingly in society and in the military--with a lot of finesse. It's a lot simpler to follow than some of his other works that I've seen, but it's also his strongest because it's able to take this to a logical and exciting extreme. The 10 minutes zoom by.

Visually innovative and a joy to watch and hear.

An inventive short about the the importance of individuality and the role of art in fighting against fascism.

Ironically, I prefer the restrained, almost austere geometric mid-century style of this to the gaudy, blobby design that would come to dominate animation in years to come.
