Christmas on the Square

Letdown by Dolly Parton who played some weird fashionable hobo angel. Mary Lane Haskell must have dirt on Dolly since she keeps appearing in very generous roles in her movies. Amateurish and forgettable music. High school groups are more engaging. Typical Lifetime movie plot with big city career woman who comes home to discover the true value of rural life (but only the idealized downtown storefront parts). The 2nd half does improve somewhat. Fav scene: "Try" in the church was a good ballad.

While we had the big city lady trying to sell a small town and the townsfolk trying to keep it as all good Hallmark movies have, it failed to have a dog, so I can't give this a good rating. Honestly, the acting was atrocious and I'm not sure most of the cast even got to meet Dolly as almost everything she does is with a green screen. Also, second movie I've watched this season in which Christmas lights stay on when power goes out. Come on directors, you can do better.
