Frank Redbear: Koyaanisqatsi. It means life out of balance. My ancestors would have told you that man should be at one with the earth, the skies, and water. But the white man has never understood this. He only knows how to take. And after a while, there's nothing left to take. So, everything's out of balance. And we all fall down. John Garrett: Wait a minute... so that's what happened here in Gatlin? Frank Redbear: No... what happened in Gatlin was, those kids went ape-shit and killed everyone

It's not good, but I found it watchable b/c I find the concept of fanatically religious children as killers unique; Bollman's intensity & 1 or 2 kid-centric touches to some kills. The problem though is a lack of clarity after what seemed like promising attempts to expand the mythology & explain the evil's origins. It's muddled by a 2nd storyline of evil adults & a toxin that affects no one. (I think?) There's also a new teen in town whose willingness to go along w/ the zealots is never explained

This is the only entry in this horror series that is remotely worth watching. More happens in this sequel, and it takes itself less seriously than its predecessor, which makes it a more entertaining watch than the stone-faced and lazily paced first entry. I especially appreciated the comical way in which the kids tormented the elderly.

Literally nothing makes sense in this absolute mess of a film. One of the worst I've ever seen, gosh.

While this is a thoroughly by-the-numbers affair, it does offer one novel scene, wherein the corn kids turn an elderly sawbones into a human pincushion with a dozen or so hypos, then leave the dead doc with complimentary lollipops(!). This also contributes a new addition to my ever expanding Famous Last Words file, when one imminent victim wrongly surmises, "This might be a shortcut to the highway."
