In old age, Miss Bishop reminisces about her life. A dedicated teacher, she spent her whole life teaching at Midwestern College. She never married when her first love married her cousin and another could not get a divorce from his wife. When her cousin dies giving birth, she raises the girl as if she were her own daughter and names her Hope. Throughout her life, she proved to be an inspiration to many students, many of whom move on to great things. (imdb)

Enjoyable reminiscence of life. Felt like a TV movie since we never dwelled too much on one time period and the conflicts faced by Miss Bishop were mostly external. Not a lot of development besides just feeling sad about herself or being grumpy. If anything the film's mostly about the influence of men in the life and how they bail her out, for better or worse. Again, neat to see characters like the niece grow up. Fav scene: niece trying on Miss Bishop's wedding dress unawares.
