Chasing Liberty

Why a theme so despicable, generated so many movies? Who cares about the daughter of the President of the United States? "Oh, it is not so bad." No, no. It is very, very bad.

Harmless (maybe too harmless) teen reworking of ROMAN HOLIDAY benefits from a reliable good-trouper performance from Moore, and even a nice sense of Mediterranean ambience, but it’s far too sedate and long winded to even compare with the large glut of similarly themed teen/tween movies in the aughts (was there an Audrey Hepburn Renaissance that I missed?) It’s pleasant enough, but completely unmemorable once the lights go up, and hurt by too many narrative digressions which slow the pacing.

This is probably one the worse movies released in 2004... if not the worst. Its about a young girl who looks a way to escape from security guards. Nothing else. So boring and silly.

In A Walk to Remember, Mandy Moore's character takes the high road. This time around (as in her last film, How to Deal), Moore's character takes the low road--and in typical Hollywood style, there's no cost involved. I must admit I was hoping for better things from Miss Moore. But she seems determined to distance herself from the reasons many young Christian moviegoers first fell in love with her. Perhaps she believes she did the right thing when she insisted a body double do her nude scenes.

Watch this if you are really bored and nothing else is on cable.

Way too long, but okay. Up until the end, that is, where it turns kinda crappy. "The end" meaning the last 15 minutes.

Not terrible, but not very memorable.

Not a bad movie by any means. But... I don't really remember it too well.... If I'm recalling correctly, it could have been better.
