We're locked into the POV of a character waiting for the shoe to drop, for the explanation that solves everything. The high stakes just makes it all the more effective. The Canary Islands never looked colder than they do here.

Alice is trying to see her children who live with her husband. He doesn't let her see them (cause she abandoned them 9 years ago or so), and she decides to take them away for 1 week. Her husband reports the incident in the police while Alice pass a week doing holidays with her children in a luxury hotel. In the end, the children want to stay with her. However, when she realizes taking care of her children is not like 1-week vacation she calls the police herself to take them back to her husband.

A film about a lot of problematic things which has very little of note to say about any of it.
